Refrigerant carries heat through an air conditioning or heat pump system. Daikin is using R-32 in a growing range of equipment, including selected FIT systems.

Why the change? Daikin identifies lower global warming potential as a reason for using R-32 compared with R-410A. That environmental measure is different from the efficiency rating of a complete heating and cooling system.

Compare complete systems A refrigerant name is only one part of the decision. Ask which equipment models are proposed, what their matched efficiency ratings are, and what installation work is included. Do not assume a feature or rating from one Daikin model applies to another.

Get advice for the equipment you own If you already have a system, start with its model number and condition. K&A can discuss your service needs and new-equipment options without treating a change in refrigerant technology as a diagnosis of your current system.
