At K&A Mechanical, our story starts in 2002, where our founder, Kirby Johnson, got his start in the HVAC trade. From crawling under new construction homes to running ductwork, laying line sets, setting pads, and installing registers—Kirby learned the craft from the ground up. As his knowledge grew, so did his passion.
After being trusted with his first solo service call, everything changed. Seeing the relief on a customer’s face after restoring their comfort sparked a purpose—to build a business rooted in skill, integrity, and service to the community.
Kirby went on to earn a degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning from Tidewater Community College, along with multiple certifications that reflect his dedication to doing the job right. Today, K&A Mechanical is a licensed and insured HVAC company, proudly holding a Master License in HVAC and Gas Fitting, as well as an ASOPE Boiler Certification.
